Wednesday 20th January

We left Union Island at 6.45am as the sun was rising, we were just behind Roundabout and in front of Blue Magic. Roundabout was flying a poled out Genoa and a main sail, we had two head sails poled out and Blue Magic had decided to sail their twistle rig. No 'to twistle or not to twistle' debate for them. Jackamy was the sandwich filling between two Discovery 55's!

Because we are downwind sailing we have the Caribbean swell which causes uncomfortable seas, it’s not as bad as the Atlantic swell though! It is about 425 miles to Bonaire and should take us two and a half to three days depending on the wind, we are currently doing 7 knots. Since arriving in Antigua the beginning of December we have only been day sailing, so it's back to four hourly watches!

The fishing rods are back out and Paul had a whopper on the line earlier. After wrestling with it for over an hour and the fish taking most of the line, it got away, thankfully, as Paul's arms were aching and he wasn't going to give in!

We have just had a sundowner and are getting ready for our night watches!
