Rodney Bay - St. Lucia

We had a perfect sail across to St.Lucia on  a beam reach doing 7 knots! The islands are very close to one another with  just 33 miles from Martinique to St.Lucia. We dropped our anchor at Pigeon Island in Rodney Bay where some of the other BWR yachts  were already anchored. We were all invited to Fai Tira for Rum Punch and Birthday cake to celebrate Pete’s Birthday. A good night was had by all with Pete falling asleep as usual, probably something to do with running out of punch and serving up just rum!

The next day after checking in with customs the plan was to catch a bus into town. We were about to get on the bus along with Mark and Chrissy  when an official from the marina came running across the road asking who the captain of Blue Magic was as the boat was dragging its anchor. Mark and Chrissy raced back in their dinghy. Luckily the boat was dragging slowly, the boat behind had let some more chain out while Bill from Camomile was holding Blue Magic off with his dinghy . We abandoned our trip into town and stayed close to the marina for the rest of the day. In the evening we went ashore for a fabulous Thai meal.

We are all having a few incidents that are keeping us on our toes!

We have a few clubs running now.  Jackamy in the  ‘ The reefers ‘  and  Scott Free and Blue Magic in ‘The drifters’!
