On our way. Dropped the dock lines at 0720am and motored out around the northern end of Isla Mujeres heading NE toward the Gulf Stream, which we intend to ride north east toward Key West. First few hours sloppy 4 to 5ft seas. There was a fishing competition being held that weekend so there were boats everywhere. The auto pilot decided that it was not going to work so John spent an hour and found a loose connection which he fixed and we were a little relieved to know we wouldn’t have to hand steer for the next 3 days. We were able to put all the sails up and sail for several hours on Saturday before the wind dropped out and we were back to motoring. Sunset. The sea had settled and it was quite lovely. |
