We had a wonderful time at Tom Owens Cays. Lots of snorkelling, fresh fish dinners, afternoon snoozes and calm, sunny days. We couldn't ask for more. Daniel & Piedad joined us for our last night. You guessed it, fresh fish for dinner accompanied by a few drinks. We hope to catch up with these guys next season somewhere.

The sunsets continued to be spectacular. You will find us sitting in the cockpit playing Backgammon, having a Happy Hour drink and watching the colours on the clouds.

These are some of the smallest squid we have ever seen. They had taken up residence on the mooring line.

This is not a good photo but shows them venturing out from the mooring for a swim under the boat. So cute.

These were the smallest jellyfish we have seen. They are about thimble size.

Looking down through the water on a Trigger Fish and several smaller reef fish. Yellows, blues, stripes - looks like an aquarium. The coral didn't have a lot of colour but some nice purple soft fan coral.

We were speaking to some of the Island's guests (Canadians) and they had seen and swum with a Whale Shark the day before we were due to leave the Cays. This is on our 'Bucket List' and to be that close was frustrating and disappointing. Whale Sharks come to the reef in Belize each spring and apparently the best time is around the full moon in March. There is always next year.

Frigate birds circling the smaller Cay. The building on the left is being built out of conch shells.

The Restaurant and accommodation building is also built from the coral block and sea life murals decorate the walls

And sights you don't expect to see. The guy paddling is 82 years old and owns the Cays. We assumed the lady was his wife.

It was time to leave Tom Owens Cays, but we will be back.
