We left Cayo Camado early on Thursday 5 March 2015 and motored our way down the Rio, dodging the fishing pots and nets as we exited the Golfete. Beautiful morning and the flow of the river kept our speed constant. The new engines and old props just hummed away. 1.5hrs later we dropped anchor at Livingston and rang Raul, our agent. Once 'Jodi M' arrived, Raul came out to the boats and collected our passports and then returned to Livingston to complete our checkout process. He returned about an hour later with our Zarpe, passports etc. We had overstayed our visa by a month and therefore had to pay a Q300 fine each. The total cost of the checkout was Q1250 which included the Q600 fine. We were concerned as we had been caught up in the period where SAT (Guatemalan government dept) had not sent any paperwork back to entering boats, but all went smoothly. We up anchor at 1040am and headed out into the bay on our way to Belize at last. Conditions were good although a little wind chopped into the afternoon. We set the sails for an hour and, although we were a little rusty, we got them up and down ok. We headed to Moho Cays (Belize) and cruised through, but as we would be here for a couple days before Marla & Eli on 'Iguana Dance' were due to be there, we continued on following the waypoints and headings from Rausher's Guide and arrived in Newhaven at 1640pm, 6hrs from Livingston.
