We have been back in La Playita (Panama City) for 1.5 weeks and are finally ready to head out on our crossing to Australia. Not a lot has been happening although the last 3 days have been fairly hectic doing a provisioning shop for 10 weeks for 4 people. We will see how our estimates go toward the end of our journey. With Nigel (Mister fisherman) on board we will have fish at least. Panama is cheap for most goods and the fruit & veg shop cost us under $50 from the local market, which in Australia would have cost at least 3 to 4 times as much (mind you the quality is not as good). We bought our meat from Casa de Carne (House of Meat) where we told them what meat & quantity per pack we required and they put together the packs and froze them for us. We picked it up 2 days later. Not overly cheap but convenient. We are hoping the quality is OK, everything other than the pork ribs look good although the lamb looks more like mutton. We will head to the Las Perlas Islands tomorrow for 2 nights.

We are currently experiencing a typical Panama storm (not a lot of wind but chop/waves and lightening) enough to hit up under the boat and send the dinghy leaping into the air at the back of the boat. Also it's a bit difficult to type and hold onto my wine as the boat rocks and rolls. Miss Kitty and i have just realised that we calculate the distance that the lightening is from the boat differently. She counts 1 thousand, 2 thousand etc then divides by 2 to get the distance in miles whereas i count 1 and 2 and etc and that gives the number of kilometres.
