It is 5am Monday morning, sitting in the cockpit drinking coffee waiting for a bit of light so we can head out of San Andres harbor and move north to Providencia. We motored about 1.5 nm from our anchorage (where we have been for the past 10 weeks) and anchored just off a little island close to the sea buoy, Cayo Cordoba. We are with Jens-Uwe and Dani, our German friends on Arwen, who will be traveling with us. We had intended to leave around 4am but the winds have come up during the night and there is a few storms about so we have decided to wait until first light. The forecast was for very light winds which meant we would have to motor, so we don't mind having some wind, but we are wondering what has caused the forecast to be so different to what we are seeing.
The anchorage here is a little more exposed than where we were, but it is right next to the channel and not far from the channel entrance. After anchoring we swam over to Arwen and then went for a snorkel around the anchorage. There were a few more fish here, several of which followed us around and slowly circled us, probably looking for a feed an the tourist guides feed the fish at Cayo Cordoba so the tourists have something to look at.
Will update the blog when we arrive in Providencia - hopefully we will be there this afternoon before dusk. The channel into Providencia is apparently well marked and lit, so is OK for a night entrance if needed.
