We left Isla Taboga ar 6.30am this morning and headed for Isla Pedro Gonzales, an island in the Las Perlas group about 40 nautical miles off Panama City. Conditions were OK in the morning, but the winds were pretty much on the nose most of the way and we mototsailed all day and arrived at 4pm. We caught a small frigate mackerel on the way, and Nigel has caught 2 small fish in the anchorage within an hour of arriving, so the tally so far is 3. We are anchored in a well protected bay just off the village on the island, with two other boats which we recognise from the anchorage at La Playita. About 30 minutes after we anchored one of the locals paddled out in a dugout with some bananas, mangoes and papaya which cost us about 300ml of Ron (rum) and a can of cervaza (beer). It is overcast and drizzling rain at the moment, but hopefully we will have a clear day tomorrow as we have to clean the props and the hull as she is a bit sluggish under power and I suspect that the props are covered in barnacles and panama grunge. We are having roast mutton for dinner tonight, our diet has improved considerably since moving onto Liseron. We have internet coverage in the anchorage but this will be the last for quite some time, so after we leave here it will be satellite phone only.
