The weather has settled and we now have sunny, cloud dotted days with a 5 - 10 knot breeze. We are not going very fast but conditions are comfortable. We made reasonable time yesterday with the main sail reefed to first reef and full headsail. Reefed the main to second reef overnight. Nigel has put the fishing lines out as gain today, but our current speed of 4.5kts may not be fast enough to attract the fish. The latest area of study interest is Meteorology and trying to predict the weather by looking at the clouds. Nigel obviously has the most experience, Kitty has a reasonable amount but i am still finding it a bit of a mystery, unless it's a storm/squall that is rolling in, which looks to be happening at the moment. I have a feeling this is going to be a long, interesting process. Just had to go and shoo a bird that was becoming interested in the lures we are dragging. We should hit the half way point between Manihi Atoll and Fiji later today. Another milestone reached. We should be arriving at the outer islands and reefs of Fiji in about a week or so. The plan is to check in at Savu Savu and then make our way down to Suva.
