Five Islands
John & Sue
Sun 27 May 2012 03:13
It is 9.30pm on Saturday evening, have just finished about 8 games of Sequence and a late dinner. We are currently motor/sailing at about 4 knots with the starboard engine and the genoa, still not a lot of wind around. After having some wind yesterday it was pretty calm today and we have been motoring all day. We refuelled the main tanks from the spare drums and jerry cans and we have used about 200 litres so far so the sooner we reach the equator and hopefully more favourable sailing conditions the better. No fish again today, found a couple of squid on the deck this morning but that is about it. Tried to ring the girls but no answer but did speak to Muriel for a few minutes. We received an email from Dale a couple of days ago, was good to hear from someone out there, and even better because he gave us the State of Origin outcome (but not the score). So please send us an email from time to time, using the five islands (ATT) mailasail dott comm address (we don't put the actual address to avoid getting spam email but you can work it out), just remember no attachments as the sat phone takes a while to download. We are currently 500 nautical miles NE of the Galapagos Islands and about 320 miles from Panama City, and 7340 miles from Brisbane (as the crow flies) so still a bloody long way to go.
