We raised the anchor and motored out of Noumea Harbour at 0630 on Saturday morning. We motored past Tropicali and said goodbye to Karen and Laurie from Airlie Beach and headed out to Dumbea Pass, about 11nm from the anchorage. The P&O Sun Pacific cruse ship was coming in to Noumea as we were heading out. The sky was overcast and we had virtually no wind, conditions that changed little throughout the day, so we have been motoring at around 5.2 knots since we left. This may be a bit of a problem as we need to average around 5.6 knots to arrive in Brisbane on Friday morning so we can complete the check in formalities before all of the various officials knock off and we have to pay overtime rates (double). As at Sunday midday we now have some breeze but it is directly on the nose so hopefully it will swing around to the SE soon so we can raise some sails and pick up our speed. We had some light rain during the night but the skies have cleared now and the sun is out. The seas are relatively flat so it is pretty comfortable on board. We are 150 nm out of Noumea and 650 nm from the mouth of the Brisbane River.
