We departed from Savu Savu early on Wednesday morning and headed for Suva.  We had an extra crew member for this trip, our Japanese friend, Coco.  The first several hours were into the wind and waves, so we motored until lunchtime when we raised the genoa which was mainly for decoration.  We had the fishing lines out as a just in case and caught 2 Mahi Mahi, so fresh fish for dinner.  We ended up motoring all day and all night and finally turned the engine off early on Thursday morning.  We dropped anchor at 11.30am in front of the Royal Suva Yacht Club in about 6 feet of water (Low tide).  The marina is full so we will have to stay out the front unless a space opens up.  We anchored next to Black Adder, a monohull from Fremantle.  We last saw Jim in Panama.
We went ashore after lunch and headed into the city to do some shopping and have a look around.  We managed to arrange a 3G modem for the laptop so we now have internet on the boat, cost Fiji $39 for 1 month/1.8GB, less than AUS$30.  We had a few drinks and dinner at the Yacht Club before heading back to the boat.
Friday was a pretty quiet day.  Coco has headed off to spend a few more days in Fiji before heading to the USA.  Nigel is trying to organise his visa and spent a couple of hours in town submitting his application, apparently it will be 7 working days from Monday before they advise him if he has it or not.  Not sure what we are going to be doing in the meantime, Suva harbour isn't the most exciting place so hopefully we will head off and have a look at some of the islands and perhaps head inland for a look around.

Welcome to the Port of Suva
