We left Portobelo at around 9am this morning and motored around to Isla Linton where we are currently anchored in our usual spot. Had a good trip, very little wind again so motored the 10 miles in 2 hours. Bloody outboard on the tender started to play up yesterday, it conked out on us on the way back to the boat and we had to paddle about 400 metres. Checked the fuel filter and changed the plugs but no go. Had a snooze and then went and tried it again and it started first pull. Anyway, went into the little pub at Linton to drop off our washing this afternoon and it did it again on the way home - out with the oars again. Waited an hour and now it is running OK again. Trying to see if there is an outboard mechanic around here but not holding my breath. Only does it when its running flat out so may have to slow down a bit.
Absolutely bucketed down for a couple of hours during the night last night, we are looking at having a rain catcher made up so we can catch some of it. We are running the water maker every few days but is uses a bit of power and because the days are generally overcast our solar panels aren't keeping up with our usage so having to either run the engine or the Honda generator every couple of days. Nothing exciting to report today, looking forward to getting back out to the San Blas Islands in a few days. Its a bit quiet without Terry and Laine from Virgos Child, haven't seen an Aussie boat for a week or more. The Backgammon contest continues each evening before dinner. Fairly even although John has trounced me a couple nights.
There's a beautiful breeze at the moment and no bugs (they call them noseeums because you can't see them). Sausages on the BBQ tonight and hopefully not as much rock and roll from the swell for a peaceful nights sleep.
