We called into this anchorage for an overnight stop at Tadri on Tuesday night.
Some people went ashore but Steve and I did not as Steve is still suffering with stomach upset.
Richard got a lift with the other boats.
It turned out that this place has at least 11 bars on the beach and it is a haven for Hippies.  Drugs seem to be widely used and lots of very happy spaced out europeans seem to frequent this place but not many indian people about.
There were lots of cows on the beach.  Apparantly you cannot leave your towel unattended for long or a cow will try to eat it with any other belongins.
Miss Tippy was the first yacht to arrive and was met with a police security boat who wanted copies of our documents and said they would call round the following morning.
by 10.30 in the morning, no sign of them and we decided to lift anchor and be on our way.
We got chased by a coastal security boat who said we had to wait so we mingled about.  finally the Police security boat turned up with the local paper film crew and tied up to Sol Maria.
They asked the rest of us to group together in a line so that they could take photograps for the local paper.  No yacht has been seen there for at least 9 years and then suddenly 5 of us turn up so we were treated like celebrities.  I am please we are not famous, this can get a bit much.
So after lots of filming and handing over photocopies of our documents they said we could leave and we all proceded to motor north.

We are still motorsailing.  There has not been enough wind to sail so we have now been motoring for over 24 hours or since we left Tadri.
We hope to be in Mumbai in about 24 hours time

At least we have sunshine, clear blue skies and calm seas..  lovely change compared with recent legs we have done..
