We are now travelling from Mackay to
Darwin.
We spent two nights in the Whitsunday islands on
anchor. It was lovely sailing round there and we had some quite different
sceneray - pictures to follow once we get to Cairns.
Last night was at sea, but night before was in the
marina in Airlie Beach. Airlie beach is obviously the place where all the
backpackers come, lots of young people and Greyhound
buses coming and going. The charter industry
seems to be thriving and lots of people wanting to go to the Whitsunday
islands.
Last night our NEW generator stopped working.. it
run for only 10 minutes and then stopped. we have had 3.5 hours running
time so far - not impressive.. we think it is probably a minor problem
which
should be fixed under warranty.
What this does mean though is that we need to carry
on to Cairns without visiting any islands in between as we need to get it
fixed...
