Yesterday was a great day.  The pole got fixed at midday and we got the parasailor up after midday. We were doing 7-8 and sometimes 9 kts all day so good progress made.  We kept it up until 9pm UTC and then got the main and jib out for the night.  It was a wonderful sunny day and we cought our first fish.  This was a durado or sometimes called dolphin fish because of the shape of the head.  Tom got it on board onto the welcome on board mat and gave it some gin so it died without too much struggle.  I then go to work on gutting and filleting - just like the fish factory in the old days!!  We took a picture and I will try to post this later, it was a wonderful green colour.  I cannot send many pictures as our link is very slow and only really suitable for texts.  Our evening meal was lovely fish with canarian potatoes with green canarian sauce..  Tom shaved his beard off and now looks much younger and also celebrated by pooring buckets of see water all over himself.
As far as night watches were concerned, I was on 9-12 pm  and I had skies full of wonderful stars and saw my first shooting star but for the others it was mostly rain.  The boat was rocking a lot side to side as we seemed to have follwoing seas from two directions but everyone managed to get some sleep even though not much.  I have somehow managed to gain a skill to get some sleep in all conditions, as long as I understand what the noise is I am happy....
Today it is cloudy and follwoing seas still from two directions and sometimes blowing up more than 25 kts so we have decided to stick to the normal sails for now,  but later on we may put up the cruising chute or the parasailor.
