Yesterday we had a nice day until the evening.  The sun was out, it was windy and heavy following seas but at least it was not raining.  Then once it got dark back to the usual dark squalls with wind and a lot of heavy rain showers.  We all managed to get some sleep which is good.  Steve got absoloutely soaked just before I came on watch at 3am but it happened so quickly that he had no chance to get into his waterproof trousers as when the wind picks up it is necessary to hand steer.  I was lucky in my watch as it was just a few light shower but nothing like Steve had.  I'm afraid the weaher forecast is not good, continuing with winds and showers so it is a bit depressing, but St Lucia is now getting closer but the heavy seas do slow us down a bit and we may get there a bit later than we would have liked.  We are currently hoping to get there 14th of Dec, but we are fully aware that it may take longer.

It does dampen the spirits somewhat with this weather but we are trying not to let it get us down.  At least we have a heavy displacement comfortable boat and I am sure a lot of people are having a lot worse time than we  are with it.
Yesterday the main yacht battery charged is not working any more.  We have been mainly using the generator and run the battery charger from there, but it now no longer works.  We will try to look at this later on today, but in the meantime we charge the batteries using the engine and run the generator to run the watermaker.

So greetings from rather damp windy conditions but spirits remain positive and we are a good team who work well together.
