It is now Sunday afternoon.  Brilliant sunshine, no wind and not a ripple on the sea.. quite different to the first few days.
We hope to arrive in Mackay early Tuesday morning.. - if this is the case it means only one more night at sea, providing we can work out how/where to go in the dark.. (otherwise two more nights).

We are now in a group of 5 rally yachts.  we all grouped together to provide support to one of the yachts Aspen, who have had problems with batteries not charging and were down to nothing and there was a risk that their engine was going to stop running..  One of the other yachts, Enchantress transfered two of their own batteries over so all is now well on Aspen and they should be able to make it into Mackay under their own steam.
It seems that a lot of yachts have had problems..  Fai Tira is being towed in by Blue Magic as their engine has broken and they cannot fix it.  It is too dangerous to go through the pass under sail, especially when there is no wind.
Touch wood  - we are OK, it would be better to have some sailing breeze though..
