Wednesday (12th of May ) (yesterday) we went on a coach trip organised by the tourist board.

This took us round the coastal road of Tahiti going round the island, stopping at the Gauguin museum.

It rained hard all day so it was a bit of a wash out but we all had a good time.

The sail arrived from repair yesterday which was lucky as today is a bank holiday.

It is pouring down with rain this afternoon also.  Just as well we did all our jobs this morning.

Generator is fixed – heat exchanger repaired but we are told that we will probably need a new heat exchanger when we can get hold of one and that the piston rings are worn but we will see how we get on.   We bought a small petrol generator which will charge the batteries if things go wrong..

Below are some pictures of yesterday’s trip..

Local canoos parked by the beach    waterfall in the rain

Rain stopped briefly for lunch            Tigi at the museum

Lovely gardens outside the museum      pretty flowers..

More pretty flowers              Tigi at another big Tigi site  (not sure about the third leg..)

We are told it is not normal to have this                   Tigi and Katrin (spot the difference….)

Sort of thing on a Tigi site but it was done as

Part of Miss Tahiti Competition..
