                | Position 00:28 S 089:20W We can now see the Galapagos Islands in the
distance.  We are due to reach our destination about 10pm local time
tonight (GMT-6).  It will be dark then but we hope to be able to anchor
anyway on the outskirts of the anchorage, if not we will just need to heave to
until day break. We crossed the Equator at 4am this morning and as
Tom has done this a couple of times before, he was master of ceremonies.
We then had champagne after the 10am roll call which tasted marvellos.  We
are a pretty dry boat when we are sailing but do allow us the 4 o'clock beer and
bubbly for special occasions. The fishing line went in the sea a little while
ago, but once we spotted a sea lion behind the boat we got it in
quickly. We left Perlas Islands on Thursday morning and
expect to get into Galapagos tonight (Wednesday) so pretty good going and we
have been sailing all along which is almost unheard of for this
passage. The Galapagos curtesy flag is now up and spirits on
board pretty high. We can almost taste the first beer at
Galapagos. Island Kea has been sailing well with her new mast
and rig and does pretty well in light winds.  We overtook 4 yachts last
night but hopefully they will not hold it against us
