We left Raiatea yesterday after lunch.  Despite being pinned against the town Quay, we were able to get off.

We headed for the Island of Tahaa to a bay called Bae de Haamene and picked up a free mooring buoy outside Hotel Hibiscus.

This sounded very nice as it is a turtle sanctuary on site and various tourist attractions.

We called through on our VHF for permission to pick up one of their mooring buoys and a nice voice replied in French accent ‘You are wencome’.

We waited for the next shower to finish and then jumped in the dinghy to head ashore and check out the bar.

Our timing was not quite right and the sea a bit rough with all the wind so we were soaking wet when we got to the dinghy pontoon.

We asked if the bar was open and were told yes of course and then proceeded to turn the lights on and the music on.

We had a couple of beers and then decided to head back to the boat before it got too dark.

As soon as we left, the lights got turned off and all shut down.

This place is showing the signs of having seen better times.

Last night was very windy and horizontal rain..  reminds us of the Caribbea!!!

We left this morning and we are now on a mooring buoy outside a yacht club, which unfortunately is shut.

We have had some strong winds and showers but we are now enjoying a bit of a break in the weather…
