On Sunday (9th of May) we went on a  wheel drive adventure trip.

There was only 3 of us and once we had turned off the main roads, our driver/guide stopped the vehicle (we were sitting on a platform in the back) and asked if we wanted the normal boring trip where we sat in a the most of the day and he did the talking or if we wanted to have a bit of fun, do a bit of walking and see sights which

People normally do not see.  Well obviously we were up to a bit of fun

We stopped in a few placed en route on our way to a narrow track until it came to an end.

Our guide then put his swimming trunks on, took his shoes off, got the machetti and we started on our walk.

This was down steep not much used paths and he had to cut off the tree branches which were growing over the path.

We had to walk in the river part of the way, but it did not matter..

We went to this amazing waterfall with a deep lake below where we went for a swim but the guide and Tom scrambled up and went to a shelf in the cliff and walked behind the waterfall and jumped into the lake.  (it was a bit steep and slippery for Steve and me)

After this waterfall excursion we went to ‘his office’ for a picnic lunch.  This was in fact another waterfall, a smaller one, but split in two where there was a natural slide down the cliff on one of them and you could jump off another cliff into the lake below.

This was great and I (Katrin) was able to build up the courage to slide down on and also jump off the cliff..

We also did a fair amount of driving, looking at 3 power plants, quite a few dams and seeing lots of nice scenery….   – Pictures below…

Also on Tuesday (11th )was our welcoming party on behalf on the tourist board with local dancers (last picture)
