Title: The flight back home (St Louis, Senegal to Lanzerote Canary Islands)

28:56.6N 013:36.2W

The following day, it was a memorable flight along the long stretch of West Africa, the coast of Mauretania and then the Western Sahara,
to our next
stop at Lanzerote on the Canary Islands.

Good weather prevailed along the entire route, but with increasing strong crosswind and turbulence, as we neared our destination.

On the weather briefing in Saint Louis we learned that there was
a tropical depression just northeast of the Canary Islands, strong easterly winds and
two cold fronts moving over the
Straights of Gibraltar and north of Morocco to the northeast along the Spanish coast.

Landing late in the afternoon at the Island of Lanzerote was again quite a challenge, with a lot of turbulence and an extremely strong, right angle
cross-
wind, gusting 30 knots. Happy to be back to European civilisation again, we enjoyed the short overnight stay!
