Title: The flight westward to California ( Wick to Reykiavik)

64:07.7 021:56.5W

The following day, we flew the next leg to Iceland which was in mostly clear conditions, just east of the long cold front we
passed the day before and entirely over water in a direct line to Reykjavik.
The flight was smooth and easy.

About 300 miles out of Wick, Scottish Control handed us over to Iceiand Radio, and it was at that moment where we saw on
the horizon in the north, a kind of white cloud.

As we continued on our way, it became evident that the cloud was in fact the snow and ice covered Volcano "Vatnajokull",
on the south easterly coast of Iceland. As we approached the coastline in perfect weather, the sight of the country was just
spectacular: Volcanoes, glaciers, and rivers, but no trees anywhere.

Two corporate pilots flown in from Greecewith their Jet wanted to
learn where we came from, and where we were flying to.
Impressed of our plans, they spontaniously offered us a whole plate
of Sandwiches from their gally, to feed us on ourflight over Greenland
and to Northern Canada.

After landing at the city airport of Reykjavik, we enjoyed strolling in daylight around the busy downtown area of the capital
city of Iceland, almost until midnight.
