On what really felt like the first day of summer we motored, unfortunately, and sailed south again past the highest dune system in Europe (300 metres rising from the sea) behind the longest golden beach I've ever seen. It took over three hours to sail along the Costa Verde - the green of the name comes from higher up the slopes where there is so much stability that grasses and shrubs can be supported. And the rest of the trip was at the foot of majestic cliffs and rugged mountains - the coast is full of variety here.
