If you are really following the ponpoonts on our blog you might realise we've come back to a place we moored in a week ago. Had been heading to Formentera but forecast of high winds tonight urged us to find a place with a bit more shelter.

We're on the edge of the protected posidonia national reserve. Spanish scientists and conservationists agree that anchors and chains ploughing up this important seaweed, without which marine ecosystems are really suffering, has to stop. It's just in the last few years that restrictions have been in place - so either pick up a mooring, anchor safely in sand or go away is the word. It's beautiful stuff and Isabel is interested and authoritative on it. Have you checked her great website? www.marmenormarmajor.es

Surrounded by piney hills, a small salt works and a Saturday afternoon beach crowd, about to row ashore for a walk and a beer, if he's good.
