To Brightlingsea and onto the scrubbing posts. Tomorrow French's will check shaft alignment. Even motoring down the Colne against the last of the flood tide, with sun and a gentle breeze, was beautiful. The tensions and anxieties of the last few weeks of preparation began to ebb away, and I started to remember why I love to sail.

Enormous gratitude to all the sailors of Wivenhoe for their kindness, generosity and help, and above all their friendship.
