38:16.623N 000:39.980E UTC 0945 We just covered 110 nm of distance... ( From about 320-330 to go ... ) The boat and myself -- we both enjoying the ride... It seems like after 5 years on board, finally we got understanding between each other.. With a full yankee, and 1 reef in main the boat is holding effortllessly the 8 knt average speed... Is it possible to make more ? Sure! At least a bit... But I'm lazy, and do not want to push.... It was a right decision -- to leave yesterday evening... Early morning we have been on the South part of Formentera... Going all night with the 20+ knt of wind right behind us, with progressively building seas... The nature cooperated -- as soon as the sea reached the point, when even looking at them became a bit uncomfortable... the Moon moved beyond horizon edge... leaving us with the sky doom full of stars, darknees of sea, when you can only hear and feel the waves movements.... But not see them... As each right decision, there is price attached... Leaving in a rush, I missed to say good bye for a good friend! I can only hope that I'll be foregiven! ;-) Today -- another grey day, the moderate seas on a bit lower side... The model promised the wind to backup.... And seems, it is progressively doing it... Right now we comfortably holding about 18-20 knots on a starboard beam... But I do not want to have it on a noose.. We are doing diagonal from Formentera South point to TSS near La Union ( Cartagena ... )... And everything will go right... I hope to hide from the head winds -- those forecasted for Sunday first have of a day -- in the 'bay' South from Cartogena... Everything OK on board... Except the Windows computer wich does not want to communicate over the Sattelite link... So, the messages most probably would appear the blog with delay... Than is all for now, Have a great day, M. -------------- COG: 234T SOG: ~8.0 knt WIND: N -- NNW, ~18 knts, with some gusts... We are running main sail ( 1st reef ) and yankee ( F ) Overcasted skies, with occasional glimpses of the Sun |
