We are preparan to leave Cagliari.
Actually, we are preparing to leave Sardinia.

It has been the time good spent on Sardinia.
We have arrived from Mallorca and made a land fall in Menga,  South West site of the island.  A very nice beach,  dunes,  crystal water.
The weather gods gave enough time just to relax a bit from the passage, and then they declared that the Mistrial is coming… Our anchorage was though should be good to protect from the wind, but definitely not good for the protection from the forecasted swell….

So, the decision was pretty obvious — to go to the South East part of the island:

The decision which particular point to go — has been even simpler to do.  There is Capo di Pula harbour on the South Est, with the ancient town named Nora.   For me and the boat — not to stop in that town would be mission impossible!

And so, in the morning, about 5 hours ahead before the wind should really to hit, we raised the anchor and go. Though we do have about 5 hours ahead of the wind, it has already  started to blow. It was interesting to see the boat, going often at 9 knts…
We were just in time to turn ‘UP’, towards Pula, and hide behind the  mountains as the wind started to blow….

Pula is known by its archeological site of the ancient town Nora,  established by Phoenicians, and then came under control of Romans…  The centuries of history is easily traceable as you are visiting the site. But the fist thing, which welcomed me on the site was the advertisement of the jazz  festival,  going to take place in the ancient theatre… The name of the festival… Nora!   (  Is it kind of sign for me ?  I do not know… )

Sailing to Cagliari — the real ‘big’ city — was nice and easy.  We anchored at the Poetto harbour, in front of the marina, and big beach. Just a few minutes bus drive to the Cagliari itself.   A nice and convenient place to be!

Cagliari itself — a beautiful city.  Probably, the local people would say that they are Sards, and then Italians…  For me, it is Italy, as I remember it from my last visit to Rome…  Small, beautiful streets,  Italian unique possibility to build the new living apartments on the top of the ancient foundations,  blending the new buildings with around environment…

Shortly, we are going to raise the anchor and to start moving further. It is not clear what the actual weather is on the Eastern coast of the Island.
It is is quite possible that this visit to Sardinia would be over and we would take the direct course to Napoli…

Everything is OK on board.
Talk to you soon,
