Well, we are approaching.
Computer says that the South point of Mallorca is
about 99 nm away...
Porto Colom -- 89 nm...
The evining arrived. A few minutes ago -- it has
been completely dark... But then the Moon appeared... Beautiful full
Moon...
When you are travelling in the airplanes,
that is usually the time, when the captain is annauncing
descend...
Not our case... The captain has announced the
disturbance coming...
Indeed, most of the weather models and forecasts
suggest that the wind will shift South, and then South West, increasing...
Until it should start to blow 25 knots... and then -- it should
continue shifting... Right, to the West, exactly where we were planning to
go, Palma... And then, to the NW, and stay N,
NNW...
From the 'weather theory' -- there is no
surprise, it is classic, the front or system is passing by on top of
us...
From personal experience sailing in the Med --
there is no surprise either. ' You have been making the
passage, you would like to approach the destinatination port ?
OK, here is the wind into the face for you... And do not
complain, it is only 25 knots...'
The boat is ready for the night.
-- I put extra gasoline into generator tank, just
in case;
-- put the first reef on main... I hope
it will be only 25 knots and from the predicted direction! ;-)
-- dinner is ready, and the rest
pending.
Indeed, the wind is getting more steady now.
With full genoa -- yes, I can use it now!!! -- and main with first reef --
we are doing between 5.5 and 6 knots at the moment. I guess, it is more
then enough to get closer to the land in the morning... And I guess -- I
would spend more time on slowing the boat during the night...
So, that is all for now. Thanksgiving diner
is waiting!
Ciao,
M.
