It has been a busy day.
The track I'm reporting would not show
all the tacks we done in order to find the wind.
And we found some wind... And we were
progressing at nice 8+ knots... But not for a long...
And we tack again... and no wind...
The bottom line -- we are learning on practice why
the big ships are using the old good diesel engines... ;-)
Of course, if the goal is only to go from point A
to point B... And there is no any romantic component about sailing in
between!
Meantime, we are
progressing slowly towards the Cabo Finisterre... Trying to grab any
possibility in wind... But the weather does not want to cooperate too
much... And closer we are to our goal -- the forecast is telling stronger winds
into our face... We will see...
The weather informaiton -- appears to be the
weakest point on this leg... The first part of the leg -- has an exuse... Since
the wind has been predicted to be light... nobody predicts local light winds in
the area...
But we are on the second part of the leg... And for
that part -- the wind should be stronger... And it is stronger,
indeed. The only challenge is -- it does not correspord to any .grib file
published by NOAA... Something is not right with all that weather
prediction...
But somehow the weather people are managing to make
sense out of all those data... The challenge is -- to find out how and to
learn... ;-)
It has been a busy day. And we are going to have a
busy night... We are back withing the area with a lot of ships
around... And together with changing and uncontrollable wind -- that will create
a lot of watching and work during the night!
That is all for now.
We are fine, doing OK, sailing and
progressing!
Talk to you soon.
