Computer says -- we made 388.1
nm... Well, it knows better... ;-)
Still no wind. Consequently -- 'motor
sailing', in desperate attempt to catch each puff of air coming...
But the we are leaving the trade wind belt, for
sure:
-- first, there is less grass in the
water;
-- secondly, since yesterday afternoon -- the
puffs of wind started to appear from the port side... Is it pretext from
Westerlies? (Or did I have just turned 180 degrees, without noticing?!
Have to double check... )
Changing sails becoming more and more
automatic...
Rolling yankee in, set genaker,
remove main... then remove genaker, raise main, un furl yankee...
Couple sets per day...
Between - pull the fishing line
out, clean the grass, put the fishing line back in the water...
I guess, I can skip the gym.
Besides that -- yesterday was the day of
telecom. The sat system - not working well, really. At least
for me. It is only in Hollywood movies, the guy picks up the sat
phone at any point on the Earth and connects to computers... The reallity
in the Ocean -- a bit grim...
The bottom line -- I learned a couple of
things:
-- all the installation of that wonderful device on
my boat; till all wires...
-- we are still far away from the artificial
intelligence; ( based on the software progrmamming level I've
observed...)
-- I should treat each e-mail sent as a miracle,
and enjoy the moment... rather then take the fact that e-mail should be sent on
first attempt for granted.
-- the starting point of building a good and
successful telecomunication system -- the billing system and a set
of billing plans! Actually, you do not need anything else...
Oh, ye... Besides all that above...
-- we are still maintaining the course 39M, hoping
to overun the High ridge, and to be on another side of it as quickly as
possible. But I doubt it will happen before Sunday afternoon...
-- artificially holding the speed of about
4.5-5 kts...
All for now,
M.
