Here they are.......at long
last!!!!!!!!
Final
preparations!
The picture on the left shows
only half of the food supplies that we had to take. We never expected
to get through it but we did and we now need to re-stock!
On the right we're
spending our last night on land with Mercury Rising and their
family.
Off we go!
On the left Jim took a
picture of us smiling.....we're hiding the anxious feeling we all had in our
bellies.
On the right is a picture of
Jackamy as we left Puerto Calero on that rainy day that seems like so long
ago.
Our first sunset and our last
sighting of land for 18 days! On the right - our first day with the
dolphins!
One of our first Mahi Mahi
and our method of killing it....gin! Only the cheap stuff!
Paul relaxing at sea and our
first bird sighting.
On the left Paul
is holding yet another Mahi Mahi. And on the right, I'm modelling
my present off Marie and Jerry!
Beautiful
sunrises!
More.....a beautiful
sunset and a sunrise!
The Tactical Speed Division
meeting and Paul's debriefing!
Our chart with our pins in
for each boat to mark the positions. And Amy relaxing dipping her feet in the
water.
The "pretty pink sail" -
the crusing chute and on the right the aftermath of a two hour
struggle......we just dumped it through the hatch!
On the left Paul is gutting
the fish.....me and Amy learnt to sit at the bow when this was going
on because the smell didn't really help our sea-sickness!
On the right Paul and Amy
are watching the rough seas just waiting for the boat to start swerving
from side to side!
On the left the Paul's
are at the bow at night sorting out the sails!
On the right Amy is sporting
her Crew cap, thanks Dad!
My best loaf of bread! And
our most used sail plan - our view for the majority of the 18 days!
A squall on the horizon just
under the sunrise at 7 in the morning....lovely! On the right Paul and Paul
are sheltering from a squall!
Paul attempting to
use the sextant and looking through his peep hole, never taking his
eyes off the sails!
Two fish at a time! We threw
Paul's back as it was only a baby but we kept Amy's....her first fish! On
the right me and Paul are relaxing as best as possible with our life jackets and
harnesses on!
One of the many suicidal
flying fish that ended up on our deck or in Pauls pocket and our top
speed!
Amy sleeping on watch! My
lemon sponge cake.....delicious!
Another beautiful sunrise!
And the big one.....the metre long Mahi Mahi!
Land Ahoy!!!!!! So as we
approached land the Pauls decided it was time they shaved!
Everyone eagerly awaiting our
arrival at Jolly Harbour! Nearly there!
And we've made
it!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to
Antigua!!!!!!
Celebrating at the highly
recommended Shirley Heights and the views over English and Falmouth
Harbour.
On the left is the steel band
at Shirley Heights and on the right is Hans and Monica off Natibou and Jaime and
Carmen off Bionic.
There will be more to come of
Antigua once we get round to English Harbour and start preparing for
Christmas.
Bye for now xxx
