It was a very clear night last night with the moon shining brightly lighting the way for us. When we were nearing Lanzarote we had dolphins join us. They were swimming alongside the boat for quite some time leading the way in for us - do they ever sleep!

As the sun rose we spotted land. The wind had picked up and was behind us which enabled us to sail along gently at 5 knots along the east coast towards Puerto Calero.

Approaching Lanzarote

Tony and Christine from the BWR were on the pontoon to greet us. 4 boats arrived very close together and with beers being passed around we soon had a pontoon party. 7 boats were in the marina with the remaining 10 due in tomorrow. The celebrations continued until the early hours, and we couldn’t help thinking “blimey.... this was a 5 day sail what will we be like when we've crossed the Atlantic”!!!
