23 degrees. It might also be the air temperature right
now. We have reached 23 degrees South. Been going well considering its been
motoring or motorsailing. Until 1115 hours.
We finally got to sail! Bliss! The silence was
deafening. Bertie is a marvellous beast, but he does make a fuss. An he
basically lives under our bunk so he is purring away like a big bear. If bears
purred. Do bears purr?
Manny and Gibbs got to run the show for 5 hours today.
Its Wee Gibbs we have up. Decided to go with the #3 headsail on this voyage as
it is smaller and easier for Malene to furl. Healed broken arm and all. Not that
that has been too much of a problem - arm is doing quite well.
Back to the temperature. It's rather nice with a bit of
coolness in the air. It's overcast today as well. Prickly heat healing up. The
tropics are lovely, but they are equally hot in the summer. Last night we felt
the urge to use a fleecy blanket for the first time since July (yes, Fiji got a
bit cool for a few days there -down to 21 degrees or so at night
;-D).
We are having pre-home-made lasagna for
tea.
Life is good. All is well.
