Day 2 on a wide, wide sea. The early morning shift sees a lively performance of shooting stars and space debris. So we're waiting on a lot of wishes now. The moon is a fingernail, but it never gets dark- keeping us company. The boats' wake is lit by bioluminescent plankton.

Through the night and morning we have little winds so a bit of a rolly journey so far. The crew are holding strong. In the morning we pass the last of New Zealand land with albatross coming to wave us off bringing winds with them. So far despite the foreboding clouds the crew have stayed dry. Filling their bellies with Malene's food-truck-worthy sandwiches: tuna, boiled egg, mayo, artichoke hearts (carried from Panama City), capers, pickle relish, wasabi pepper.

With the rod out and the crew hopeful for a bite to eat we lose a pretty striped fish just as it's being pulled on to the deck. The one that got away!

With the smell of roast potatoes for dinner that's all for now folks!

Orla and Laura
