Day 6,

It's already a week since we set off from Panama City! One would have thought we would be past Galapagos by now.... Well as a matter of fact, today is the first day we can set the autopilot to a compass course instead of a wind angle. That is an improvement - long may it last! We are still sailing upwind but in the right direction and just that wee bit off the wind. Last night was amazing. Had to hand-steer just for the sheer pleasure of it, flying along at 5 knots in the moonlight. And then wanted to put it back on for handing over to Stephen and the b..... B&G autopilot wouldn't let med go in windangle mode again. It obviously got upset with me when I took it off the helm. It was fine with Stephen 10 minutes later. Everything has it's own life on board, and we are trying to give the fresh veg and fruit two lives: one in the banana hammock and one in the fridge. Our 5 a day is reduced to 1 a day: we chuck one piece of fruit over the side every day :D

Otherwise another wet day at the office. A two hour squall lay in our line of travel this morning. It was fine on the radar at first, but then just kept growing and growing and growing.....They seem to do here, once they have caught you. For the last two days the entire boat is more like a drying loft....

All is well and 2nd day plantane on the menu.

PS. Oh! Is that an inflated lifejacket there? Yes it is - it went off lying on the seat in the cockpit during a late morning squall. Oops.
