Kaoha,

Got all the formalities sorted fairly eassily in Hiva Oa - thank you Sandra - and washing done - again thank you Sandra - and moved on to Tahuata, the island just south of Hiva Oa. The island was lovely, the anchorage outside the breakwater not so much, so decided to leave, although could easily have spent more time. Had the treat of watching the Aranui 5 - cruise ship/supply vessel arrive before we left! That is a spectacle not to be missed and thank you to Poppy for adding to the entertainment.

As we lifted the anchor, Stephen hurt his hand and given we needed some R&R anyway, we are here for a few days. It is lovely and flat here and the hold is good and so are the neighbours. The popped by with fresh caught fish the other day - it must have been big as the pieces they gave us were enough to feed us for a couple of days!

Getting the boat cleaned and sorted out and shaking all the mold out. Panama City must have been a damp and warm affair as we need to sunbeam just about everything that has been tucked away for the passage! UV is a great thing when you want it! It's all good now and no damage done. Even got my hands into some black mold remover which is probably up there in least liked things along with chlorinated swimming pools! But it does the job.

Stephen's hand is on the mend and tomorrow we might try to put diesel in the port tank. Managed easily to get diesel in Hiva Oa. None of this "no supplies possible/ don't count on getting diesel unless you have prebooked with the copra boat" stuff. You can get mostly any needed supplies here and the rest can be shipped from Tahiti.

Greetings from Ivaivanui Bay,
