Day 9,

Sailing has been great since last. And we are finally north of Galapagos! Has been a long time coming.

Thinking about a take-away tonight. It is Sunday. Hear they have a nice wee chippy on Isla Isabela. I'm sure Uber Eats will find a way of getting a delivery here ;D :D

Weird and wonderful weather is still with us, but at least it has been dry. As we speak it is blowing 30 knots outside and we are well reefed. No squalls in sight - just a lot of wind!

A few facts from the last week or so: we have been underway for 240 hours, have motored for 86 of them - or just a bit more than a third. We have had hot meals every night. We have changed the boat time once. our best 3 hour run is currently standing at 25 nautical miles but the way its going right now we may just beat that by 1500 hours!

All is well.

PS. And thank you to my lovely husband for the good write up from yesterday xx I was merely fixing my own mistake out there in the pointy end! Had crash tacked in a tired moment of not paying sufficient attention to the windshift. It had dropped, changed and then of course picked up right away to 23 knots. Poor Bertie - our 90 HP Beta diesel engine - couldn't even turn her back on the right tack! So there you go. Me up the front and Stephen getting a bruised shin while giving me a hand in the cockpit. It was his turn to sleep as well.... I have a very brave and loving husband.
