Of course the two fish spent most of the day in the pool.
For the boys the sail had gone so well that by lunchtime Flying Cloud was not far off of Moorea - but then the distraction happened. Big wonderful whales - 5 of them in two pods. And so far nearly 3 hours we became a whale watching boat.
This one started an incredibly close approach to the boat....
And that's when i got the idea of jumping in to swim with them....
One diver off the boat and swimming to the whale - somewhat nervously!
A quick tow behind the boat for redelivery into the whale pod (yes i did begin to think i was shark bait).
And then it happened. One of them breached next to me - yes i'm the potentially squashed light colored blob in the water.
These whales were amazing.

Description: QuickTime movie
the video may not be BBC but it was pretty cool!
and wanted to show us why Moorea was home of the whale and most of the written whale stories.
When we did pull into the Sofitel to meet up with the girls it was dance time.
