Flying Cloud

Jo and I were woken from our sleep last night by quite heavy footsteps on the deck. I told Jo not to worry as it was probably Matt moving around. However within seconds we began hearing some deep breathing and then one very loud bowel movement, hopefully it wasn't Matt - and Jo became increasingly convinced we had an animal on board (other than Matt). As i walked into the cabin, i saw a large message had been left behind - by a visiting Sea lion who was making a hasty exit back down the Port transom! After some intensive cleaning (sea lion pooh smells really bad) all was back to normal and i went back to bed.

However, we were up again at 4.30am for our departure to Espanola Island, 48 miles away to the East.

The girls were good and didn't wake up until around 6am.

Espanola is the oldest of the Galapagos Islands and is very flat. However it has an enormous sea lion colony at Gardner Beach.

We enjoyed the walk and a quick swim - before the male sealion saw us off.

And the beautiful Flying Cloud.....

We motored over to Gardner Islet in the afternoon to swim with the sea lions. Very politely they obliged and Daisy and Ella were mesmerized by their speed and how close they came (sometimes an inch or so).

Ella also got to grips with her snorkel and mask.
