Last night's sail was dark - no real moon at all, and cloudy. Oh yes, and by the way - ITS COLD AT NIGHT. I think i want to head back North!
But we managed to avoid the islands and reefs despite the Raymarine having a lot of mis-leading headfits!

Our plan had been to come to Pangai, check out of Tonga, spend the day here and then sail on to Tofua (an active Volcano) on the way to Fiji. Unfortunately, we missed the fact that it was a Saturday - nothing and nobody seems to work at the weekend in Tonga - and so customs would have to wait until Monday (or rather we would have to stay in the Haapai's till Monday.

So after visiting the local yacht club / bar run by Magda and . We made our move around to the most idyllic nearby bay, where we decided to beach the boat for a scrub off. No sooner had we done this than we noticed something was missing off of our Starboard hull. Any guesses?

Yes, its the skeg!
So we pulled back of pretty quickly. Our base guess is that we hit something during last night, but who knows. It was definitely there 2 days ago!

And then we were kindly invited to an early and informal beach BBQ by Magda and some friends from another yacht.
