We arrived at Bonaire's main harbour - Kralendjik at 9am this morning. 61.5 hours after departing Martinique, and having covered 475 miles at an average of 7.7 knots. For the last 9 hours we deliberately slowed the boat down to ensure a morning arrival. Firstly by taking down the pink spinnaker down at 22.15, followed by wrapping the starboard spinnaker sheet around the propeller at 22.16.
Matt bravely opted to go for the swim, and the underwater lights worked a treat.
Secondly i managed to brake the top Genneker fitting at 7.30am, just seconds before i intended to take the sail down. The law of the sea i'm afraid.

Today we have hired a car and "toured" Bonaire. An island rich in cactus, birds, lizards and flamingo's - and with an amazing smell of red bush tea!

I tried to eat the skin of an iguana, but it was more like trying to eat fibreglass; though the meat inside was very nice! It's surprising what peer pressure will do!

We had a taste of the local food that was very nice indeed, till the wind blew the tray of food in a big mound on top of the camera

After my 30th birthday, I've come down with a bit of a case of "foul mouth"... Got to be careful with the female population in Martinique! Hopefully doctor Sandberg's prescription of Dettol and a wire brush will sort it out!
