Not much to report out here, pretty slow night last night, we only averaged about 5 knots made good over the last 24 hours. What wind there is is straight on the nose and accompanied by a sea state devised perfectly to slow our forward progress. We've had the main and solent out trying to get a bit of added drive. On the plus side we pulled in a small skipjack Tuna, which we will hopefully be eating today at some point. Also had the fun of discovering the pins for both hinges on the stbd engine cover had fallen out... A job I left till this morning, and we were fortunate in that the pins were even still sitting right where they fell. The monotony was broken by Rodney and Jenny who sang to Shirley Bassey (full blast) with the winch handles, keeping the Cloud's spirit high, even in absence of Julian, the King of Divas!
Noel's attempt at seeing if he could beat his sea-sickness failed, and today he\s just started on the drugs... Let's hope they work! At around 10am the port engine used up the last of it's fuel, and we've just finished transferring the fuel out from one of the bladders... The process went quite well, I've now just to put all the cushions back in place and then bleed the fuel and we'll be off again! Rod would like to mention that things have improved with the full main up and us doing over seven knotts vmg for the moment... Only 550 Nm to go, we do miss the Atlantic trades where we'd be hoping to pop them off in just over two days... now we're hoping to do it in 4!
From a happy Cloud crew,
Captain Matt
