Unfortunately at 6am this morning i made a mess of putting away the Gennaker!
Having decided 25-30knots true was to much wind i went to furl it away on a surf, only to find that the top 3rd stubbornly refused to furl.
After some thought i decided to try dropping the Gennaker and gathering it as it came down - of course disaster ensued.
The sail went in the water, we sailed over it, the bowsprit collapsed into the water and began the process of being ripped off the forward beam.
Fortunately some fast releasing of the sail saved the bulk of the bowsprit
So we have now put into Huahine on a rather rainy and squally afternoon to affect repairs.
