The day started off early this morning, loading Jules into the cab at quarter past 5 in the am! It was relatively painless as we had employed the tried, tested and true tactic of not going to sleep!
Needless to say I went to bed straight afterwards and at around half eight when I awoke I was feeling pretty rough! Somehow I managed to have a pretty productive day nonetheless: Started out with an easy task: gathered up the laundry and brought it in to get done. After that little task, I started to feel a little bit more human and decided to get cracking on washing down the headsail... That's when I noticed there were a few minor war wounds, and I'd have to take it down. After I repaired the headsail, I figured I might as well continue with sewing... Finished up around half six with what I'm hoping is the next to last step of making the awning for the foredeck... Tomorrow morning, once Jenny and I have hoisted the solent, I'm hoping to get it up for the final fitting (we just need to mark off where to finish the side flaps and then an hour of sewing later it should be ready to go up for good!).
Anyhoo, I'm now sitting down to a fray bentos ready made pie, and Knorr mushroom soup... Sans Julian as my meal companion for the first time in months... So lonely!
