We blew the Big Pink at 13.40 UTC and sailed over it!
5 minutes later and we had it back on board and were busy preparing to hoist the asymmetric.

A quick wash and check revealed 2 holes, a large rip down the port side, and a severed head!
Anyway, the sewing machine comes out tomorrow.

Other than that the routine has well and truly kicked in. Matt spent 20 minutes beating me up in the boxing ring, followed by our 1 hour yoga session. I returned to the guitar today, and finally understand how to read music (sort of) - but i still can't play anything yet (although i am mastering chords). A quick read and we were soon into happy hour on the beach (the foredeck).

Another great day - 224nm run. Will be less than 2000 miles to the Marquesas by the end of the day, and from there only another 1000 to Tahiti (we have already sailed 1029 miles since leaving Galapagos. Hopefully the trades will stick with us and maybe even strengthen.

Despite the kite going kablooey, it's been a pretty good day. Jules and I are busy sharing the task of cooking Grilled Halibut with Garlic butter and french beans, although the Halibut is probably a mahi mahi or some such fish... Should still be yummy enough for our palettes though! We've been doing some maths about distance left to go before Jules needs to be flying out of Tahiti, and are at present rethinking the plan of attack for which islands we'll have time to visit in the Marquesas... Looks like mostly Nuku Hiva will get our attention (especially if we can manage to coordinate getting Jenny back aboard there!), and maybe time for another island or two if the weather gods favour us. How do you pick which islands out of an entire group to visit? Such an arduous task, I'm not quite sure how we'll ever manage to cope. Alas the woes of the cruising sailor!
