Sullivan Bay is an impressive lava flow from 1897 which comes right down to the sea, leaving only a tiny bit of sand.
As we approached shore we were treated to the site of 5 nesting Pelicans with their babies.

The Lava is extremely hard and sharp - not somewhere where you want to fall over, and as usual our crocks did us proud!

Every so often their is a "hole" in the Lava, where the gas was trapped before finally exploding. We managed to sink down one or two....

Up close the lava has the most incredible patterns and twists.

E&D explore on their own feet as usual.

At Sullivan bay my underwater camera decided to stop co-operating and so i have no pictures of our snorkel, which is a shame since we found ourselves swimming with a penguin! Jenny and Matt were also investigated by sharks again, and we saw another Sealion swimming right next to us. The changes in the wildlife here in a short distance are incredible!

After Sullivan Bay, we had a 2 hour sail to Santa Cruz (our final island) and a place called Dragon Hill on the Northwest coast.

The sunset light provided yet more wonderful photo opportunities, including these burning cactus.

After a slightly longer hike than usual, we headed back to the boat for dinner.
