I must come back and:
a) sail around the Bay of Islands - its beautiful
b) sail into Doubtless Bay - its stunning and apparently the restaurant overlooking the bay has the best fish and chips in the world
c) Horse ride all the way along 90 mile beach (we used Ahipara Horse Treks and they were excellent - very lively horses!)
d) go and surf down the sand dunes.
Well I started on C. Harry demonstrated just how good it is to go to Pony Club with some excellent riding, whilst Amanda was clearly born to ride (her horse thundered down the beach at what seemed like 100 miles / hour). My horse was called Storm - appropriately enough considering the recent days events - and he proved himself to be quite lively!
90 mile beach is beautiful - and riding along it beats driving in a 4x4 hands down!
