This is the Costa del Morte.

I would have been lost here without Ursula’s Castillellano (even though she has trouble understanding Gallego). The name of this coast does not require any help in translation. It is obvious to me that it means ”KEEP AT LEAST 5 MILES OFF” so that’s what we are doing.

Torre de Hercules, dating back to roman times, is now gone from sight. This was our first mark on arrival in Galicia and is the oldest operational lighthouse in the world.

Ursula had a bit of a shock earlier. When she rose from her bunk and went to check on me in the cockpit I was nowhere to be seen. She found me in the heads (toilet) and was a little pale when I emerged. This is an easy thing to happen on our very large yacht and can be simply  explained by the fact that I was in the east wing (which on occasion can be the west wing).
